Privacy Notice
Last updated: 5 June 2026
This Privacy Notice explains how Pure Electric Limited handles your personal data when you enter the "Win a Piece of Racing History" giveaway (the "Promotion"). It forms part of, and should be read alongside, the Giveaway Terms & Conditions.
This document is provided in English, which is the authoritative version. Where a translation is offered for convenience, the English version prevails in the event of any discrepancy.
1. Who we are (data controller)
The data controller is Pure Electric Limited, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 11634997, whose registered office is at Unit 4 Axis, Hawkfield Business Park, Bristol, BS14 0BY, United Kingdom.
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at help@pureelectric.com.
2. What data we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible:
- Your email address — to register and confirm your entry and to contact a winner.
- Approximate location — a country (and, where available, region) derived from your IP address at the time of entry, used to determine prize eligibility and for aggregate segmentation. We do not store your raw IP address against your entry.
- Self-declared country — only if you choose the "join the mailing list" action.
- Instagram username — only if you choose the "follow on Instagram" action, so we can verify it.
- Marketing consent and a consent record — whether you opted in to marketing, plus a record of when you consented, the exact wording you were shown, and the policy version, kept as evidence of consent.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- Running the Promotion (registering, confirming and administering your entry, and awarding the prize) — necessary for the performance of the Promotion you have asked to take part in.
- Marketing emails — only with your consent (a separate, optional, unticked opt-in). Marketing is never a condition of entry, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Retaining a winner's details — to fulfil the prize and to meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
- Keeping a suppression record of addresses that have unsubscribed or been erased — our legitimate interest in continuing to honour your opt-out.
4. Confirming your entry
Your entry only counts once you confirm it by clicking the link in the confirmation email we send you. If you don't confirm, your entry is not registered.
5. Marketing is optional
The marketing opt-in on the entry form is unticked by default and is entirely optional. We will only ever send marketing to people who actively opted in. Every marketing email carries a working one-click unsubscribe link and our postal address. You can also unsubscribe at any time, which adds you to a permanent suppression list.
6. Who we share it with (processors)
We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under data-processing agreements:
- SendGrid (Twilio) — sending transactional and marketing email.
- Vercel — application hosting and storage of the recorded prize-draw file.
- Neon — our database.
These providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place. We maintain a one-page record of processing activities (Article 30) and a register of these processor agreements.
Our distribution partners. We also work with a network of authorised distribution partners, and we have a written data-processing and data-sharing agreement (DPA) in place with each of them. Our current distribution partners are: Directed, Advaldi, Streetbooster, Comscoot, RLVNT, MOViGO, LOCO Scooters, Core Group, EV Lab and LSX. If you have opted in to marketing, we may share your contact details with the relevant partner so they can market Pure Electric products to you in your market. Each partner acts as an independent controller for its own marketing, is required to honour your opt-out, and you can unsubscribe from its messages at any time. We will not share your data with any partner if you have not opted in to marketing.
7. How we keep it secure (Article 32)
Personal data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, access is restricted on a need-to-know basis, confirmation and rights-request links are single-use and time-limited, and we do not keep plaintext personal data outside the secured database.
8. How long we keep it
We keep non-winning entrant data only until shortly after the draw: non-winner personal data is deleted 30 days after the draw. A winner's details are kept longer where needed to fulfil the prize and meet legal and tax obligations. A minimal suppression record (your email address only) is kept indefinitely so we can keep honouring your unsubscribe or erasure request.
Please note: when we delete your data, live records are removed immediately, but encrypted database backups and point-in-time history held by our hosting provider (Neon) clear automatically on their own schedule (typically within about 30 days) and cannot be edited individually.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent to marketing at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
10. How to exercise your rights
- Marketing: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Access or erasure: use the Access or erase your data tool, which emails you a secure confirmation link, or contact us at help@pureelectric.com.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be posted at the entry URL.
